Licensing and Permitted Use

Standard Tempoetic licence

Purchasing a Tempoetic product gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the downloaded file. You receive permission to use the product; ownership of the file and its intellectual property is not transferred to you.

You may;

Use a purchased backing track or chord chart for:

  • Personal practice
  • Rehearsals
  • Auditions
  • Music lessons
  • Live musical performances
  • Performances by a band or ensemble in which you actively participate

You may save reasonable working copies on your own devices and create a backup for your personal use. You may print a purchased chord chart for your own use.

You may not;

  • Share the file with another person
  • Resell, rent, sublicense or give away the file
  • Upload it to a website, cloud library, file-sharing service or social platform
  • Make it available for public download
  • Include it in another music or backing-track collection
  • Claim that you created or own the recording or arrangement
  • Remove copyright notices, credits or watermarks
  • Use the file to create a competing product or service
  • Extract, copy or redistribute substantial parts of the recording or chart

Each performer or organisation requiring their own copy should purchase an appropriate copy.

Recordings, video and broadcasts

This standard licence does not automatically grant permission to use the product in a commercial recording, film, advertisement, television program, livestream, online video, podcast, broadcast or similar production.

Those uses may involve rights in the backing track, composition, lyrics, performers or other material. Contact Tempoetic before using a product in this way and obtain any other permissions required for your project.

Other music rights

Song titles, compositions and lyrics may be owned or controlled by third parties. Your Tempoetic purchase only grants rights that Tempoetic is entitled to grant in the supplied product. It does not replace any venue, performance, broadcast, mechanical or synchronisation licence that may otherwise be required.

Questions about a proposed use can be sent to support@tempoetic.com.
